We have a long tradition of being first. Sweden´s first nurse was trained here and Nobel Prize winners have researched here. The first Nordic appendectomy was performed here and the first integrated children´s hospital was built here. It is a characteristic of the activities here always to look for new, innovative solutions. We make the best use of new technology, new scientific findings and new ways of working in order to solve medical problems and to continuously improve the way we take care of our patients.

As of January 13, 2025, Akademiska Laboratoriet at Uppsala University Hospital has been informed by the accrediting authority, Swedac, about revocation of the accreditation in the areas of clinical chemistry and clinical pharmacology.

Uppsala Care is responsible for managing the administration and finances for patients residing abroad who apply for planned (non-urgent) specialist healthcare. As a patient referred through Uppsala Care, you will benefit from the extensive expertise, professionalism, and experience accumulated over the 300-year history of Uppsala University Hospital. Each year, we welcome hundreds of patients from across the globe.
